Bangladeshi newspaper tries to belittle Indian team with a reprehensible advertisement: Prothom Alo, a well acclaimed Bangladeshi newspaper tried to embarrass the Indian cricket team by publishing a disconcerting advertisement in its weekly supplement ‘Rosh Alo’.

The front page of the supplement features a fake advertisement of a cutter. It shows Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman, who picked up 2 consecutive fifers against India, standing with a ‘cutter’. It reflected the 19-year old bowler’s famous ‘off-cutters’, which fetched him lots of wickets in the recently concluded series against India.

The picture further shows that in front of Mustafizur stand seven Indian cricketers, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan and Ravichandran Ashwin are standing with their heads half shaved. According to Indian traditions, half-shaven heads are considered as a sign of humiliation.

The futile endeavour of such a well reputed Bangladeshi newspaper like Prothom Alo is uncalled for and should be absolutely condemned. In the process of trying to belittle the Indian cricket team, they have ended up belittling their own newspaper, exposing their smutty mindset. Bangladesh have been in the news for all the wrong reasons recently as Sudhir Gautam the superfan from India got attack by Bangladeshi’s a few days back.

These acts have rather soured the sweetness of the series win that Bangladesh should have ideally enjoyed, celebrated and received acclamation for.
