Shaun Marsh slammed an incredible century as the Perth Scorchers claimed a massive win over the Hobart Hurricanes at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The win saw the Scorchers go to the top of the table with some incredible batting as well as some tremendous bowling. Fittingly, it was skipper Adam Voges who completed the win with a single towards square leg.

Unfortunately for the Hurricanes, none of their batsmen were able to get off to the start that was required. Only D’Arcy Short was able to make something of the opportunity handed to him and once again showed intent as he has done for the most part of the BBL campaign. Short managed 36 on what seemed to be a difficult track to bat on with the ball not coming on to the bat as well as one would have liked.

Moreover, there was also no solace in the fact that none of the senior batsmen could make anything happen for them with the bat. Ben McDermott, who slammed an incredible 85 in the previous game, George Bailey, and even Tim Paine also could not capitalize on the starts they had made.

Eventually, it came down once again to Jordan Wells and Beau Webster to once again add the finishing touches to the close of the innings. While Webster was also dismissed after his start, it was Wells who got the Hurricanes over the line with a blitz of 28. Even Clive Rose chipped in with some decent hitting towards the end as well.

Shaun Marsh and Michael Klinger are perhaps the most experienced batsmen when it comes to batting against the new ball on a difficult wicket as well. While Klinger’s approach was a more controlled one, it took one over filled with three boundaries to ensure that the southpaw Marsh was on his way. Perhaps, this was good news given the fact that the 32-year old has been picked for the side for the Indian tour as well.

Moreover, when it comes to Marsh, it would seem clear that the way in which he is centering the ball at the moment would be certainly amazing as well. Marsh brought up his half-century in grand style as well when he smashed a massive six over the long-off boundary.

It was eventually Adam Voges who would make his way out and strike the winning runs as the Scorchers went atop the table.
