Yuzvendra Chahal’s journey from being a chess player to headlining India’s spin bowling attack has been one of a kind. The 28-year old was seen making an impact immediately when he was picked for Mumbai Indians in their victorious 2011 Champions League campaign.

He played all the matches and then picked up two wickets for just nine runs in three overs in the final as Mumbai Indians clinched the title by beating RCB. In 70 games he has 82 wickets, with his best season coming in 2015, bagging 23 wickets in 15 matches.

The Haryana leggie is also only the second bowler to take a six-wicket haul in T20 internationals, triggering a collapse, which led the English side to lose eight wickets for as many runs. An attacking wrist-spinner, Chahal has 44 wickets in 27 T20 Internationals.

Having a leg-spinner who isn’t afraid to lure the batsmen through the flight, Chahal’s most wickets have come through batsmen trying to clear the fence. Chahal can be a beneficial addition to any BBL side in Australia, where wrist spinners like Adil Rashid and Kuldeep Yadav have had quite a success in recent times.
