The passion and love for cricket makes sure the fans stay put even in the worst of adversities. One such incident was on display in the BBL game between the Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat. A ball that was connected for a six went straight into the stands and hit a spectator hard on his face. However, he returned into the ground within no time as he possibly didn’t want to miss the action even a bit.
With an ice pack and a beer, he was seen in the stands again indulged in the game. The incident took place in the 17th over of the Brisbane Heat innings. James Faulkner, the bowler, bowled a delivery wide of the off-stump from around the wicket. Picking the length on offer early, the batsman Jimmy Pierson immediately shuffled across the crease and settled under the ball.
Always keep your head away from the ball
He hoicked it way back into the crowd over the mid-wicket fielder. It made a cracking sound off the bat as the ball flew to the second stand where it hit this man. The spectator failed in his attempt to catch the ball and didn’t realize that he had to take his face off from the path of the ball. Thus, the ball hit him right on his forehead. Fortunately, though, it wasn’t a serious injury and he looked alright.
“Very good for Jimmy Peirson who launched this ball into the crowd. Very bad for old mate, who got hit by said ball in the face,” wrote the official Twitter handle of the BBL. Also, a video of the six was shared.
