Skipper Alex Carey anchored the innings with run-a-ball 45 while Jonathan Wells smashed an unbeaten 68 from only 46 balls. The duo added 89 for the 4th wicket to help the Strikers finish on 174/4. Glenn Maxwell’s 25-ball 43 pulled back the Melbourne Stars in a tricky equation but go out when 34 needed from 15 balls. Nathan Coulter-Nile scored 20* from only 8 balls but couldn’t take the Stars over the line.
