Preview for Dream11 Fantasy

A place in the top two is up for grabs for the winner of the match 16 in the ongoing BBL season. Both Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars have won two matches apiece so far out of three. This is also a return fixture between the two sides. The Stars, led by Glenn Maxwell, had won the previous face-off comfortably by 52 runs. Marcus Stoinis was the best performer for them with the bat while Haris Rauf starred with the ball.

The Hurricanes, however, brought their campaign back on track defeating the defending champions, Melbourne Renegades in the previous game. The Stars, on the other hand, fell agonisingly short of the target against the Adelaide Strikers. It is expected to be a close game with the Launceston set to host its first game of the season.

Weather Conditions/Report

While the day is likely to begin with the sun smiling in Launceston, there is rain in the forecast during the match. It will be cloudy from 7 PM before the heavens might open up around 10 PM. At the start, there is around 43% chance of rain, it increases to 55% after 9 PM. DLS will come into play in that case and the teams will have to plan accordingly. The temperature will hover around 24-28 Degrees Celsius during the match.

Pitch Report

Two matches were played at the venue last season and it produced two contrasting contests. The first one was a low-scoring affair while 170 was chased down comfortably in the other. It is tough to predict the behaviour of the surface for this game. The team winning the toss is expected to bowl with DLS also likely to come into play later with rain in the forecast.

Average first innings score: 138 (2 matches in BBL 2018-19)

Record of the chasing teams: Won – 2; Lost – 0

Injury and Availability News:

Scott Boland has joined the Hobart Hurricanes squad. He replaces fellow quick Tom Rogers in the side.

The Melbourne Stars have named an unchanged squad for this encounter.

Top Picks

Marcus Stoinis scored an unbeaten 81 against the Hurricanes in the previous face-off and he could be vital again. Maxwell looks in the best possible space at the moment after returning from a break. Though he bats at five, the Stars skipper is capable of scoring a quickfire fifty with the bat. With the ball, Steyn and Zampa will be crucial for the Stars.

D’Arcy Short, the all-rounder, is always a luxury to have in your Dream11 Fantasy team. Simon Milenko opened the innings in the last outing and he could prove to be effective if the Hurricanes continue with the experiment. Bailey and Faulkner are two of the consistent performers for the team.
