Sydney Sixers bounced back from a defeat inside 24 hours after their loss against Brisbane Heat as they thumped the Adelaide Strikers by 7 wickets on Sunday. Strikers, who batted first at the Carrara Oval, had their run rate below six until the 14th over. Some strong finish from Jonathan Wells (66 off 56) and Jake Weatherald (34* off 24) took Strikers to 150/4. Josh Philippe began the chase with a 24-ball 41 before Rashid Khan tried to pull the things back with three wickets. However, James Vince (45* off 33) and Jordan Silk (38* off 28) got the Sixers over the line with two overs to spare.

Here are all the statistical highlights from Sydney Sixers’ victory during the STR vs SIX game:

Sixers’ winning streak against the Strikers:

6 – Sydney Sixers won each of the six matches they played against Adelaide Strikers in the BBL since the start of 2018. Five of those six wins of Sixers came while chasing a target only. Sixers won a total of nine BBL matches against Strikers out of 14 meetings.

4/4 – Sixers won all the four matches they played at the Carrara Oval, all of them while chasing a target only. They defeated Stars, Renegades and now Strikers in the ongoing edition at the Carrara Oval and also won defeated Brisbane Heat by 5 wickets in the 2018-19 season at this venue.

Strikers finish with a moderate total:

150/4 – Adelaide Strikers’ total of 150/4 is the joint 2nd lowest 20-overs total by any team for the loss of four or fewer wickets in the Big Bash League. The lowest is 146/4 also by the Strikers in 2015-16 season against the Hobart Hurricanes.

Earlier in 2012-13 season, the Hobart Hurricanes made 150/3 against Brisbane Heat while Melbourne Stars also finished with 150 for the loss of four wickets during the 2014-15 season against Sydney Sixers.

Rashid takes all for the Strikers:

3 – Rashid Khan claimed all the three wickets picked by the Adelaide Strikers during the Sydney Sixers’ innings. This is the first instance in the BBL where a team picked three or more wickets in a match and all of them went to the same bowler.

During the 2017-18 season, Jofra Archer took all the three wickets picked by Hobart Hurricanes bowlers in the game against Strikers. However, one of the Strikers’ batters got runout in that match which was also affected by Archer only.

13 – Rashid Khan has bagged 13 wickets in the BBL against Sydney Sixers; all across seven matches at an average of 14.92 with help of a 4-wicket haul which includes a hat-trick.

Milestones for Vince:

225 – James Vince became the 6th player from England to amass 6000+ runs in the Twenty20 when he went past his individual score of 31 during STR vs SIX game. Vince is the 2nd quickest England batsman to the 6000-run mark as he needed 225 innings to get there while Alex Hales took only 218 innings.

150 – The lone six struck off Peter Siddle in this match was the 150th six for James Vince in his Twenty20 career. Vince also hit 669 fours in the T20 format as 3576 runs came through boundaries in his career out of the 6014 runs.
