Hobart Hurricanes registered their second straight win of the BBL 2020-21 as they got the better of Adelaide Strikers by 11 runs on Sunday. Here are all the statistical highlights from Hobart Hurricanes’ close win during the STR vs HUR game:

Strikers’ losing streak in Hobart:

3 – Adelaide Strikers now have lost each of their last three matches at the Bellerive Oval in the Big Bash League. They lost to the home team Hurricanes by 8 wickets in the 2016-17 season and by 7 runs during the 2017-18 edition.

D’Arcy excels against Strikers yet again:

6 – D’Arcy Short now has six half-centuries in the Big Bash League against the Adelaide Strikers; the most by any player against an opponent in the BBL. D’Arcy has aggregated 499 runs across nine BBL innings against the Strikers which are the 2nd most BBL runs by any player against an opponent. Aaron Finch tops the list with 503 runs against the Melbourne Stars across 14 innings.

Maiden T20 fifty for Worrall:

62* – Daniel Worrall’s unbeaten 62-run knock is now the highest by any player in the BBL while batting at No.8 and lower position. Cameron Boyce’s unbeaten 51 for Renegades against Thunder in 2018-19 season is the only other 50+ score by a No.8 or lower position batsman in the Big Bash League.

A record knock by No.11:

35* – The unbeaten 35-run knock by Danny Briggs is now the highest in the Twenty20 format by a No.11 batsman. He went past 34* by Dominic Drakes in the 2019 CPL for SKN Patriots against Barbados Tridents.

A big partnership for the 10th wicket:

61 – The unbeaten 61-run partnership between Daniel Worrall and Danny Briggs is now the highest in the Big Bash League for the 10th wicket surpassing the 45-run stand between Jimmy Peirson and Mujeeb Ur Rahman for Brisbane Heat in the 2018-19 edition against the Adelaide Strikers.

This 61-run stand is also the 2nd highest 10th wicket partnership in the Twenty20 format behind the 63-run stand between Grant Elliott and Zulfiqar Babar for Quetta Gladiators against Peshawar Zalmi in 2016 PSL.

Bottom half rescue Adelaide:

100 – Exactly 100 runs were scored by No.8 and lower position batsmen of the Adelaide Strikers during the STR vs HUR match. These are the most number of runs by No.8 or lower batter in a T20 innings on Australian soil and also the most in a team innings in any franchise-based T20 league.

The previous most number of runs in a BBL inning by No.8 and lower position batsmen was 70 runs by Perth Scorchers in 2017-18 season game against Hobart Hurricanes.
