The second clash on Super Saturday features two of the most formidable outfits in the Big Bash League with the Melbourne Renegades battling it out against the Brisbane Heat. Both the teams have recorded an impressive victory in their respective opening league clashes.

The Renegades romped home in a 7-wicket win against the Hobart Hurricanes led by Cameron White’s 79 off 59 deliveries in a knock consisting 8 boundaries and 2 sixes after restricting them to just 164. Dwayne Bravo recorded a 5-wicket haul leaking just 28 runs which further played a big role in ensuring a comfortable victory.

The Brisbane Heat, on the other hand, recorded a 15-run victory against the Melbourne Stars after Joe Burns smashed a quick-fire 50 off 28 balls with Brendon McCullum smashing an impressive 22-ball 40 which set the tone early on in the innings.

Melbourne Renegades

The Melbourne Renegades have invested in quality-all-rounders like Kieron Pollard and Mohammad Nabi after West Indian leg-spinner Sunil Narine was ruled out early on in a crucial blow. Aaron Finch will be eager to make a mark against the Heat after crumbling for a low score against the Hurricanes.

White brought all his experience to the fore in the opening clash and will be expected to deliver more of the same in the upcoming games. Hogg was a touch expensive recording an economy rate just above 11 which the veteran will be keen to improve on.

Predicted XI: Aaron Finch (C), Marcus Harris, Cameron White, Tom Cooper, Brad Hodge, Dwayne Bravo, Tim Ludeman (wk), Jack Wildermuth, Muhammad Nabi, Kane Richardson, Brad Hogg

Brisbane Heat

Pakistan based spinner Shadab Khan accounted for the wickets of Glenn Maxwell and Luke Wright on his BBL debut against the Melbourne Stars which certainly augurs well for the outfit in spite of leaking 41 runs during his 4-over spell.

Brendon McCullum will be all set and raring to kick on. Ben Cutting was a tad disappointing with the ball leaking 22 runs off the sole over he bowled which the all-rounder will be keen to work on as soon as possible and make amends for against the Renegades.

Predicted XI: Jimmy Peirson, Brendon McCullum (C), Sam Heazlett, Joe Burns, Alex Ross, Ben Cutting, Mark Steketee, Shadab Khan, Josh Lalor, Brendan Doggett, Mitchell Swepson

Our prediction is for the Renegades to take points at the end of this game.
