The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) agreed to meet the players’ demands late on Wednesday evening which led to them calling off the strike. Their upcoming India tour will also go ahead as planned now. Bangladesh are scheduled to play three T20 Internationals and a couple of Tests against the home side. However, only a couple of days ago, the way players had called for the strike, the tour didn’t seem to be happening.

The BCB President Nazmul Hassan was shocked to know about the developments and had expressed his disappointment in the press conference held. Moreover, he had also informed the reporters that the players are not receiving his calls. And he slammed the all-rounder Mehidy Hasan for the same during the meeting on Wednesday.

According to ESPNCricinfo, Nazmul Hassan singled out Mehidy at the start of the meeting and threatened to delete his number as well. However, later the BCB president recollected his thoughts and admitted that he had lost his temper.

What I have not done for you, says BCB President to Mehidy

“Miraz, what have I not done for you, and you didn’t pick up my phone call? From today onwards, I will delete your number from my phone,” Hassan shouted. One of the cricketers also admitted that the players were rattled looking at Nazmul Hassan’s outrage.

“The Miraz thing rattled us. The way the meeting began, it didn’t leave us with much to say. Shakib Al Hasan managed to put forth our points but the rest of us simply didn’t have the mentality to bargain. We were told that all of our demands were met, but there was no actual detail.

“This was quite confusing, as we wanted to know exactly by how much, for example, the NCL [National Cricket League] match fees will be increased. There was no clear direction,” the player, on condition of anonymity, said. The players had put forth two additional demands before the meeting which also included a larger share of BCB’s revenues. However, the board didn’t approve this demand.
