The Bangladesh cricket board (BCB) tournament committee has come up with a calendar for the news season 2017-2018 like they have done for every year. The schedule for next year will be inaugurated with the National Cricket League (NCL) while it is supposed to end with the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL).

The schedule:

A National Championship is to follow between the National Cricket League and the Bangladesh Cricket League. But the negative in this year’s league is that a handful of the Bangladeshi national team stars won’t be able to be a part of the league due to their commitments towards the nation. The national team will be engaged in a full-fledged South Africa tour at the same time.

The series against South Africa will see the Bangladeshis Test their mettle in all three versions of the game. According to the schedule, there will be 2 Tests, 2 T20 internationals and a 3 match ODI series which will stretch from the month of September to October.

Bangladesh Cricket Board Tournament Committee Chairman Saiful Alam Chowdhury confirmed the news of the new season’s calendar to www.xtratime.in.

“We are expected to organize National Cricket League (NCL) in the last week of September. And National Cricket Championship will be played in November which followed Bangladesh Cricket League in January, The calendar has been prepared in this way and all the tournaments will roll onto the grounds as per the calendar,” said Chairman Saiful Alam Chowdhury in Dhaka Sher-A-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Bangladesh now lies in the 7th position in the ICC ODI rankings which is their current best in all three formats. They find themselves in the 9th position as far as the longest version of the game is concerned. In T20’s their ranking is even worse as they are tiling at the bottom half in the 10th spot. The team will be looking forward to reviving their rankings in all three formats of the game and will hope for better results next season.
