BCCI announces India A and B teams for South Africa A and quadrangular series

The All India Senior Selection Committee met in Kolkata on July 23 to declare the respective teams.

India A had a hectic tour of England where they took part in a triangular series followed by three four-day matches. Next month, they will play a couple of unofficial Tests against South Africa A in Belagavi and Bangalore respectively. A quadrangular series will also take place thereafter, where India B and Australia A will join the Indian A team and South Africa A.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced both the Indian squads for the four-day as well the four-nation One Day series. The All India Senior Selection Committee met in Kolkata on July 23 to declare the respective teams. Shreyas Iyer was exceptional as a leader in the team’s erstwhile fixtures and he has again been entrusted to lead the team in the limited-overs games.

The likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Krunal Pandya, who were a part of India’s limited-overs teams in England, was also selected. Prithvi Shaw, Shivam Mavi, Shubman Gill, who represented the victorious U19 team in New Zealand, were also drafted in. Manish Pandey was appointed as the captain of the B team.

Iyer also replaced Karun Nair, who will be in England for India’s series, as the skipper for the four-day matches. The South Africa A series starts on August 4 and the quadrangular series is scheduled to get underway on August 17.
