BCCI announces the schedule for India’s tour of Sri Lanka: In a media release on Thursday, Board Of Cricket Control India (BCCI) confirmed the schedule of India’s tour to Sri Lanka in August-September 2015, Virat Kohli-led India team is supposed to play three Test matches on tour.
The Indian Team will arrive in Colombo on 3rd August and will start the tour with a three-day practice match against the Sri Lanka Cricket Chairman’s XI at the Premadasa stadium from August 6th. This series will mark the end of Sri Lanka’s batting great Kumar Sangakkara, who will retire after playing the first two matches.
Initially the matches were scheduled from 18th August but was later changed due to a clash with Sri Lanka’s General Election which starts from 17. The revised schedule goes in favour for the Indian team as they can find time to rest before starting the home series against South Africa in October-November.
Schedule :
August 6 to 8: 3-day practice match at R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo.
August 12 to 16: 1st Test Match at Galle.
August 20 to 24: 2nd Test Match at the P.Sara Oval, Colombo.
August 28 to September 1: 3rd Test Match at Sinhalese Sports Club,Colombo.
