The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has cleared the pending dues of the Indian coaches Ravi Shastri and Rahul Dravid. The former is the head coach of the India senior team which is led by Virat Kohli while Dravid is at the helm for India A and U19 teams. Both have been doing wonders for the country ever since they have taken over the position and the board is also paying them a hefty amount which they deserve.
Shastri took over as the head coach of Team India after Anil Kumble stepped down controversially last year after the Champions Trophy. His partnership with the skipper Kohli is working perfectly it seems now as the side has hardly put a wrong step in the last few months. Dravid, on the other hand, won the U19 World Cup under his watchful eyes and is delivering some exciting players to the country. Currently, he is with India A team on England tour.
What is their salary?
BCCI, recently, revealed the salaries of both the head coaches on their official website while clearing their pending dues. Ravi Shastri has been paid a whopping amount of Rs 1.89 Crore as professional fees for the period from April 18 to July 17. According to this payment, the monthly salary of the former Indian cricketer is computed up to a massive Rs 63 lakh which makes him one of the highest paid coaches.
Rahul Dravid, however, was paid Rs 40.5 Lakhs for the month of March this year. No doubt that both of them earn a huge amount of money and Dravid was given a 100% hike when his contract as the coach of the junior teams was extended last year. The duo deserves all the accolades coming their way as the Men in Blue are making the country proud with some magnificent performances.
