As per the latest developments, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has bought a new mansion for about INR 40 crore in central Kolkata. It’s a 23.6-kottah plot with a two-storey building on Lower Rawdon Street. It has been reported that Ganguly wants to give the home a complete makeover and hence, the existing building will be demolished and a new mansion will be established. Notably, the former Indian skipper bought this home from a Gujarati family.

As of now, the 49-year-old resides in Biren Roy Road in Behala along with his other family members. He was brought up at this location and went on to become one of India’s most successful captains and batters. Meanwhile, it must be noted that Ganguly is the co-owner of this property alongside mother Nirupa, wife Dona and daughter Sana.

Local residents excited to welcome Sourav Ganguly in his new house

Speaking of his new purchase, the veteran stated it would be easy for him to commute while residing in Lower Rawdon Street. “I am happy to have my own home. Living in the central area will be convenient. But it’s hard to leave the home where I lived for 48 years,” said Ganguly as per the Indian Express. Meanwhile, this news spread like wildfire as the local residents are excited to welcome ‘Dada.

“We are very happy that dada will be with us, he will stay here, we are overwhelmed and we will welcome him,” Parimal Roy, who has a shop in this region, was quoted as saying by News18. Meanwhile, Ganguly would be busy nowadays as we are in the business end of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

69 of the 70 league games have been done and dusted and the preparations for the playoffs are underway. Notably, the group-stage matches took place at four venues across Mumbai and Pune. However, the action will move to Kolkata and Ahmedabad for the playoffs. The Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the first Qualifier and Eliminator and Ganguly is expected to attend those games.
