The 27th match of the Indian Premier League saw the most-awaited clash between two table toppers. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals locked horns with each other, and the defending champions stole all the limelight. The winner of this face-off was supposed to sit at the top of the points table, and MI remained successful in the contest by winning it with five wickets. Chasing the target of 163 runs, MI’s Suryakumar Yadav and Quinton de Kock turned out to be the team’s backbone.

Both of them scored 53 runs with their bat to get the team going, and in the end, Krunal Pandya pitched in to score a quickfire 12 runs. When Delhi showed up with their bats first, it was impressive to see Shikhar Dhawan regain all his class. He played an unbeaten knock of 69 runs and was supported by skipper Shreyas Iyer to lead the team towards a modest total.

Though De Kock was named as the player of the match, Suryakumar Yadav’s knock very much became a topic of appreciation. In the same light, former cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra got vocal about his opinion on Yadav. He came with a strong remark on the uncapped player and said that he would very much form the part of the Indian team soon.

Suryakumar was the gamechanger in the match between MI and DC: Aakash Chopra

“I feel Suryakumar Yadav was the game-changer in the match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. The manner in which he is batting, whether you see his shots over the covers or his flicks or his cut shots. The icing on the cake with a cherry on top was the flick he played of Rabada’s bowling for a six. My jaw dropped after watching that six. I said that this player should play for India,” said Chopra on his YouTube channel.

“I am saying that before the end of 2020, he will be a part of the Indian team, and I feel he will also play matches for the Indian team. This is a voice that is coming from my heart for this player, and hopefully, that happens,” he added.

Mumbai Indians will next face Dinesh Karthik-led Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2020.
