Ben Duckett has been trolled hilariously by Indian fans for taking a dig at Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Earlier this week, it was confirmed by Worcestershire club on their Twitter handle that Ashwin will join the team for a county stint and also released a welcome note for him.

In reply to that tweet, the left-hander trolled Ashwin by stating that Northamptonshire has played Worcestershire twice referring to the missed opportunity of scoring heavily against the off-spinner. However, he had a forgettable tour to India last year where he was dropped after mediocre returns in the first two Tests.

Duckett had a terrible time against Ashwin and had no clue of his variations. He was dismissed by Ashwin thrice in 3 innings and his scores read 13, 5 and the last was a 16-ball duck. Since then he is yet to make a return to the England side.

Indian fans did not like the way the batsman trolled their best bowler and mocked him with farcical tweets. They took no time in reminded Ben of his dismissals at the hands of Ashwin and also posted pictures of his dismissal. While some of them advised him to have a look at his own international career.

Duckett’s International career

The 22-year-old is currently playing county cricket for Northamptonshire and is trying to get back into the national side. He was hailed by many former England cricketers for his technique when he made his debut but was badly exposed on rank turners against quality spinners.

In his short career so far, the left-hander has mustered only 110 runs in 4 Tests at an average of 15.71. He has also featured in 3 ODIs where has scored 123 runs at an average of 41. Though, he has fared much better in the limited-overs format of the game.
