Team India was on a long run during the home season that started way back on September 22nd 2016 when they played the first Test against New Zealand. It was a 3-Test series against the Kiwis followed by 5 Tests against England, one-off Test against the neighbours Bangladesh and a 4-Test series against the arch-rivals Australia.

India won the first 3 series quite comprehensively and found a tough competition from Australia but won against them too. Although India were the dominating side yet there were individuals from the touring countries that stood out with some excellent performances. Here is a look at the best players combined from those teams to form a playing XI:

The 20-year-old left-handed batsman had impressed one and all with his performances against Pakistan earlier this year where he scored a massive 184 in the third Test. He was able to hold his place in the squad on the back of those heroics. But there was a question mark whether the young man would be able to survive against the quality spin bowling of India.

But he answered all the questions with his superb outings. In the very first innings in Pune, he scored 68 on a difficult track and backed it up 31 in the second that helped the Aussies win. He scored another half century in the next match at Bangalore and tackled the spin beautifully. Overall, he had 232 runs in 8 innings and was the second highest run-getter for Australia behind his skipper.

#2 Haseeb Hameed:

Another 20 year-old who was an unknown commodity before his tour to India. But the sheer technique and grace with which he batted, we all fell in love with him. It was a pretty rare sight in the modern era to see a teenager trusting his defence and not looking to play extravagant shots.

He scored 219 runs in 6 innings at an average of 43.8. He had 82 in the second innings in Rajkot that showed the world his skills. But it was the knock in Mohali that he played with an injury to his hand in the second innings that made everyone fall for him. Due to the injury, he had to bat down the order at number 8 and played a gritty knock of 59 off 156 balls. His struggle through the agony and won all our hearts.
