Bhuvneshwar Kumar nominated brand ambassador for Meerut's voter awareness campaign

The Indian swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was handed a huge responsibility off the field by Meerut district authorities as they announced him as the brand ambassador for the voter awareness campaign in the region. The 26-year old was made the face of the campaign after a meeting in the Bachat Bhawan.
Responding to the new role, the cricketer said to TOI, “It is a huge responsibility and I will appeal to all those who are 18 or above 18, to vote. This is a small step that every individual can take for a better future of the country and should ensure to get their voter ID cards made on time.”
The pace bowler has been a huge success in the Indian team and has become a role model for many youngsters. It was a great move by the officials to choose him for spreading the alertness amongst the young people of the regions about the importance of voting.
The district magistrate of Meerut B. Chandrakala referred to him as a figure amongst the youth and was quoted as saying, “Kumar is an icon for youngsters and will thus be able to persuade more youngsters to exercise their franchise. I really hope that the youngsters in the city are influenced by him, and get their voter ids made and use them.”

She took to Twitter to express the optimism with the cricketer and wrote, “A press conference in Bachat Bhawan with Indian Cricketer Bhuvnesh Kumar promoting Indian people by appealing them to participate in voting”.
Kumar also had the presence of his father Kiran Pal Singh during the meeting at the Bachat Bhawan. Overwhelmed by the trust shown in his son, he said, “Everybody in the family is very happy. It is a huge responsibility and all of us hope that he rises to the expectations of all those counting on him.”
