Big Ant Studios, the developer of Don Bradman Cricket, has announced the launch date of its cricket console ‘Big Bash Boom’, named after the Twenty20 cricket tournament in Australia Big Bash League (BBL). The new console has been developed in collaboration with Cricket Australia (CA), the game’s governing body in the country. Big Bash Boom offers a more arcade version of cricket, making the experience for fun-filled.

Since the console carries the official name, all teams and players of the BBL and Women’s BBL will be fully licensed in it. The exciting flavor of the cricket in the latest console will feature flaming trails when the batsmen hit the maximum, dancing ducks, ball power-ups and many more. The date of the launch of the much-awaited console is November 29, the BBL tweeted on Tuesday.

“Our previous cricket games, such as last year’s Ashes Cricket, have been known for being authentic, simulation style takes on the sport,” Big Ant Studios CEO Ross Symons said in a statement last month, Gadgets 360 reported. “We wanted to do something different with Big Bash Boom. Just as the BBL itself has grown to become Australia’s favourite family summer event, this is a game the whole family can jump into and have a great time with.”

‘Big Ant Studios really understands cricket’

Kim McConnie, head of Big Bash for CA, praised Big Ant Studios saying it “really understands” cricket and the factor in it that leads to such a strong following the game sees. He said with the Big Bash becoming Australia’s biggest cricket competition, they wanted to create a game that could excite fans of all age groups.

The console will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and just ahead of the beginning of the new season. While the BBL starts on December 18, the women’s edition will begin earlier on December 1.

The latest is the third Big Bash-licensed title from Big Ant Studios (after Big Bash Cricket 2016 and 2017’s Big Bash Cricket), both of which were made for mobile platforms.
