It's a big compliment for Virat if the Aussie media is comparing him with Trump: Yuvraj Singh

After the Australian media compared Indian captain Virat Kohli to US President Donald Trump, the entire cricketing fraternity has come out in support of the flamboyant Delhi lad. Stylish southpaw Yuvraj Singh who is also a close friend of Virat Kohli was the latest to voice his opinion on the matter. The left-hander who made an inspirational comeback in the ODI series against England under Kohli’s captaincy said that comparing Kohli with Trump is actually a compliment for the Indian captain.

“It’s a big compliment for Virat if Aussie media is comparing him with Trump. It means he is the best,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying by India Today on the sidelines of an event in Delhi on Thursday. The southpaw also added that the final Test will be a closely fought affair with the series locked at 1-1. “The series between India and Australia has been really good. Dharamsala should be a good series decider and even if the series is tied, we are in for a great Test,” Yuvraj added.

Cheteshwar Pujara who played a mind boggling knock in Ranchi also came out in support of Kohli calling him as a great ambassador of the game. He also added that the mind games played by the Australians won’t deter the current Indian team.

“It’s really sad to hear such comments. We fully support Virat and he is one of the great ambassadors of the game. The focus has shifted somewhere else. We are focussed on the game and he is a great leader. We are looking forward to the next game rather than worrying about anything else,” Pujara added,” Pujara was quoted as saying while addressing a press conference ahead of the final Test in Dharamsala.

Former Aussie captain Michael Clarke also lashed out at the Australian media and said comparing Kohli with Trump is ‘just a load of shit’. He also made it clear that the Australians including Clarke loves Kohli a lot and it is only two or three reporters who are trying to tarnish Kohli.

“Comparing Virat Kohli with Donald Trump – what a load of shit s that. What Virat did, even Smith would have. I could just laugh about the Trump thing (comparison). I find it quite funny and am sure Virat will also find it quite funny,” Clarke was quoted as saying by India Today.

“Bear in mind, I love Kohli and the Australian public love him. It’s just two or three reporters who are trying to tarnish him. I always somehow find an Australian in him the way he plays and I absolutely love how he accepts challenges. It’s just two or three reporters who are trying to tarnish him but Virat shouldn’t be bothered,” the former Aussie captain added.
