Bihar minister's son attacked in Champaran after allegedly opening fire on children playing cricket

A group of people attacked a Bihar minister’s son and brother in West Champaran on Sunday as villagers alleged that they opened fire on the children of the village. The incident took place in Haradiya Koeri Tola village in the Mofussil police station area.

Bablu Kumar, son of Narayan Prasad, the state minister of tourism and BJP leader was accompanied by his uncle Harendra Prasad, manager Vijay Sah and other associates. They all sustained injuries in the clash with the villagers.

In the footage shown on various news channels, Bablu and other people accompanying him were beaten up by the villagers. They also snatched away the gun Bablu was carrying. Police have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.

It is being reported that Bablu and other people went to the village after they were informed of encroachment on an orchard. They further stated that they were assaulted, their licensed gun was snatched by the villagers, and the vehicle in which they were traveling was also vandalized.

The villagers also alleged that the minister’s family members saw children playing cricket there. Bablu fired a shot after which the situation went out of hand.

Bihar minister’s son was beating children involved in cricket

According to a report published in News18, this incident created a stampede in which ten children were injured. An eyewitness mentioned that kids were playing cricket and the minister’s family members started beating them up. Bablu was among the people who were attacking the kids and also hit a man with the butt of the gun and opened fire.

“Kids were playing cricket here, four to five men came in a vehicle and started beating them up. Narayan’s(the tourism minister’s) son was among the people who were beating up the children. He also hit a man with the butt of a gun and opened fire,” an eyewitness Vijay Kumar told as quoted by News18.

Minister’s son and other family members have also sustained injuries. They have been admitted to the hospital and mentioned that no shot was fired.
