India will face England in the five-match Test series starting on August 4. With just over two days left for the first match to begin, India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is sweating it out in the training sessions, steaming in to be at his best for the series.

Known to be a genuine match-winner with the ball for India, the right-arm pacer will look to add more wickets in his tally and give skipper Virat Kohli the breakthroughs whenever the team needs.

While it’s normal to wear pads while batting in the nets, it is an unusual sight to see bowlers wearing those on while running and bowling. But it seems Bumrah is comfortable doing both at least in the nets. The right-arm pacer pulled off this unique and weird feat as he bowled in the nets while wearing batting pads.

The BCCI posted the picture on its official Twitter account and wrote a fitting caption for the post. “He is having a really busy session in the nets.  #TeamIndia #ENGvIND,” BCCI wrote in the caption of Jasprit Bumrah’s photo.

Jasprit Bumrah an integral member of the squad

Burst onto the Test scene in the 2018 tour to South Africa, Bumrah in his so far short career has gone to be the leader of pace attack in no time. During India’s overseas victories in Australia, England, South Africa, and West Indies, the right-arm pacer has played a pivotal role and taken wickets at clusters to enable an easy victory for India on numerous occasions. He has so far taken 83 wickets in just the 20 Tests.

The 27-year-old also has previous experience of touring England, and that will be very handy for India against the seam and swing conditions on offer. Much will depend on how Bumrah starts as with the wickets upfront, he tends to give India a head start for the spinners to come into play.

With Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammad Shami too for company, Bumrah would be eager to make amends, after his not so impressive performance in the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand.
