The Chattogram Challengers are on bit of a role in the ongoing Bangabandhu BPL 2019-20. Having won three matches on the trot, Mahmudullah’s men are brimming with confidence. Sitting on top of the points table, the Challengers are next scheduled to lock horns with the Cumilla Warriors in the second of Friday’s doubleheader. The Challengers last defeated Mashrafe Mortaza’s Dhaka Platoon.
The Warriors, on the other hand, are hanging in the middle of the table. After losing to the Platoon by 20 runs, Dasun Shanaka and Co got over the line in the humdinger against the Rangpur Riders. Courtesy their 105-run win over the Rangers in the first match, the Warriors have a net run rate of +1.481. Beating the Challengers in their own den may not be an easy task though for the Warriors.
Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium hasn’t had much for the bowlers by any means. Runs have flowed and batters have been able to make hay. The team batting second hasn’t been out of the game and stayed in contention throughout. The chasing sides have won three out of four matches. The conditions will be on the hazier side with the temperature around 18 degrees Celsius.

Pacer Mehidy Hasan Rana has been exceptional, having picked up eight wickets at an economy of 6.58. Nasum Ahmed hasn’t flattered to deceive either, bowling well in the powerplay. Muktar Ali and Kesrick Williams have economy rates in the 9s, but have gotten five wickets each as well.
