After the renowned Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka hosted a few matches in the ongoing edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Sylhet is set to host Tuesday’s doubleheader. The first encounter would be played between Khulna Titans and Rajshahi Kings. The Titans’ wretched fortunes continued as the Mahmudullah-captained floundered in the super-over against Chittagong Vikings.

The Kings, on the contrary, are languishing on the bottom half of the points table with two wins and as many defeats. Nevertheless, the team, captained by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, won a cliffhanger the other day against Rangpur Riders courtesy of a stupendous last-over from Mustafizur Rahman. Their Net Run Rate (-1.068) is a concern though. Meanwhile, it’s a now-or-never scenario for the lacklustre Titans.

Pitch and Conditions

As far as the records at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is concerned, the team batting first has had the advantages. Hence, it won’t be surprising if the teams opt to bat after winning the toss. Rajshahi would want to bowl second as they have an in-form bowling attack. Being an afternoon game, dew is not likely to play a part and hence the slower bowlers may come into play as the match progresses.

The Titans may replace the out-of-form Ariful Haque with batsman Jahurul Islam to strengthen their batting. They would be satisfied that Junaid Khan, who replaced Ali Khan, did exceptionally with the leather in hand. With the tournament moving towards its business end, the cellar-dwellers needs a moment of inspiration that could bring them in contention for a berth in the top four.

The team would again be looking up to left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman to deliver the goods
