MUMBAI, INDIA – MARCH 31: Virat Kohli of India salutes the crowd after his innings during the ICC World Twenty20 India 2016 Semi-Final match between West Indies and India at the Wankhede Stadium on March 31, 2016 in Mumbai, India. (Photo by Matthew Lewis-IDI/IDI via Getty Images)

As India is knocked out of the World T20, star batsman, and the nation’s heartthrob, Virat Kohli has asked the BCCI for a sabbatical from international cricket as his workload is taking a toll on him. Virat single-handedly carried team India into the semi-finals of the World T20 and played a whirlwind innings in the semis to help India post a target of 192.

However, some pedestrian bowling meant that Kohli himself had to roll his arm, and got a wicket off his first ball. He has become the best all-rounder India can have as Hardik Pandya can’t bowl anything but short and Raina can’t play anything short.

Kohli has curtly told the team management that during this sabbatical the selectors should bring in better players so that there is less pressure on his shoulders. He has asked the team to reconsider the selection of star veteran all-rounder Stuart Binny after Hardik Pandya’s flop show.

In the batting department too, he wants a reshuffle and has requested that Sachin comes out of retirement and open the batting due to a string of lacklustre performances by Shikhar Dhawan, who has spent more time at the saloon trying to fix his moustache than in the middle.

Looking at the brilliant performance by Ashish Nehra, Kohli has requested the selectors to bring in RP Singh, Munaf Patel and Joginder Sharma back in the side as he truly believes “Old Is Gold”.

Our reporter Rajdeep Pardesi who spoke to Kohli after the loss has informed us that if his demands aren’t met, Virat Kohli will retire from all forms of cricket and start playing tennis so that no one else can let him down this time around.

All of this obviously is untrue, I mean look at the date. Happy April Fool’s day people.
