Brett Lee suggests players to learn guitar and play cards in the bio-secure bubble during IPL 2020
Lee, who has played for Kings XI Punjab, believes that they have just the right coach for them in form of Anil Kumble.
The most awaited event of the year, IPL is on cards now and fans can’t hide their excitement. Keeping the social distancing and other COVID norms in mind, the matches will take place in the bio-secure stadium which permits minimum movement of players. Amid this, former Australia speedster Brett Lee has some cool suggestions for the players in order to make best out of their leisure time.
IPL will take place between September 19 to November 10 in UAE in a bio-secure bubble. Brett Lee suggests, learning guitar or playing cards are some of the recreational activities players may explore. He believes that players will stick to the norms and guidelines laid down by the BCCI owing to corona pandemic, but should carry on with some fun activities in their hotel rooms.
I love playing in my hotel room: Brett Lee
“Firstly, for your health, the most important thing to do is to make sure you social distance and you adhere by the COVID standards, so I don’t reckon any player would want to go out and do the wrong thing.”
It’s also for their teams and their fans because if the IPL didn’t happen, it would be a catastrophe, wouldn’t it? Around the world, people want to see cricket, they are missing the sport. I believe that all sportsmen, certainly cricketers, will make sure that they do the right thing and that is playing by the rules, staying inside the bubble,” said the former Australia speedster on Star Sports’ Cricket Connected.
Lee has always been the keen lover of music and is currently a part of rock band Six and Out where he plays the bass guitar. He has also worked and sung with the Indian music sensation Asha Bhosle.
“Look, it’s an eight to nine-week tournament, they are getting paid really, really well, they are putting on a great show for the world, so embrace the eight weeks, learn the guitar. See, I love playing in my hotel room. I don’t need to go out and play golf, get the guitar out, play some cards, have some fun,” said Lee
Lee, who has played for Kings XI Punjab, believes that they have just the right coach for them in form of Anil Kumble. His experience, skills and knowledge will come handy for the team during the course of IPL. “Having someone like that (Anil Kumble) in terms of the mix of the team and certainly the squad will be invaluable,” added Lee.
