India and Pakistan will face each other in the upcoming T20 World Cup on October 24 in Dubai. The marquee encounter is one of the much-awaited clashes as the arch-rivals no more play in a bilateral series. They lock horns only in the ICC events and in the Asia Cup. Tickets for this match also got sold out within hours after ICC opened the window for its sale.

India’s record against Pakistan is impeccable when it comes to playing against them in the World Cups. The Men in Blue have ended up on the winning side on all seven occasions in the 50-over mega event. In T20 World Cups, the two sides have faced in five matches and India have emerged victorious in all of them as well.

Meanwhile, PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja has confirmed that an investor is ready to give a blank cheque to him if Pakistan manages to beat India for the first time in the World Cup. Former Pakistan cricketers are backing the Babar Azam-led side to emerge victorious for the first time against their arch-rivals.

“One strong investor told me that a blank cheque is ready for the PCB if Pakistan beats India in the upcoming T20 World Cup,” Ramiz said in a meeting with the Senate Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) according to Cricket Pakistan.

I am determined to make Pakistan Cricket strong, says Ramiz

In the meeting Ramiz Raja also opened up about making Pakistan cricket strong financially. He pointed out that England and Pakistan wouldn’t have cancelled their tours to the country if Pakistan were financially strong. “PCB runs 50 per cent on the funding of ICC. 90 per cent of funding to ICC comes from India. I’m afraid that if India stopped funding ICC, then PCB might collapse because PCB gives zero per cent funding to ICC.

I’m determined to make Pakistan cricket strong. If our cricket economy is strong, we won’t be used and then binned by teams like England and New Zealand. Best cricket team and best cricket economy are two big challenges,” Ramiz further added.
