Cricket Australia (CA), after loads of speculations amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, has put forth the full itinerary for their home series against India. With not even a month remaining, the tour gets underway on November 27 with the opening ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground. In fact, the One Dayers and T20Is will be played at the iconic SCG and the Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Before the Test series, Team India will also be playing a couple of warm-up matches. In order to prepare for the Day-Night Test, starting December 17 in Adelaide, India will also play a practice game under the lights against Australia A from December 11 before the start of the pink-ball Test. The new year’s Test will start a bit later to provide rest to the players between the second and third Test.

Cricket Australia interim CEO thanks BCCI

CA are also planning to bring in crowds for the Boxing Day Test at the MCG, beginning on December 26. On Monday, October 26, Melbourne recorded its first day with zero coronavirus cases since the month of July. CA’s interim CEO Nick Hockley has welcomed the Indian team with open arms. He also thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for helping them set up the plan for the series.

“Across all three formats, Australia and India represents one of the great rivalries in world sport and we are delighted to welcome Virat Kohli’s outstanding squad to Australian shores this summer,” CA’s interim Hockley told in a statement.

“I would like to express my gratitude to everyone at the BCCI for the faith and support they have shown in the plan we have developed, which we believe will result in a safe and successful summer for all involved,” he added.
