CAP and OPPO Mobiles tie up to provide cricket training to the underprivileged kids

New Delhi/Noida, October 10, 2017: India’s leading cricket training academy, Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) and OPPO Mobiles, a leading camera phone brand, have come together to provide scholarship and promote cricket skills to the less privileged kids. OPPO is donating INR 20 Lakhs to the academy for the scholarship. Under this scholarship program Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) will provide2 years (24 months) of cricket training to the selected children. The selected children will get an opportunity to be trained under the guidance of cricket expert and coaches. These scholarships will help in unearthing new talent and give young kids a platform to kick-start their budding cricketing careers.

As a part of its Diwali campaign, OPPO had pledged to donate INR 20 per Facebook share of its new Tv commercial as a result of which, OPPO was able to raise INR 10 Lakhs. In addition to this, OPPO decided to add another INR 10 Lakhs to the donation amount, doubling the amount to INR 20 lakhs. This initiative by the brand is another effort to promote and support cricket in India.

Trials to select the deserving children held at Yadu Public School, Noida. 17 children were selected after thorough evaluation process of batting, bowling, and fielding abilities. The selected children will undergo training by professional coaches, who will guide them on enhancing their game along with providing requisite advice on physical fitness, sportsman spirit, and handling game pressure among others. The selected students will be trained at the Cricket Academy of Pathans, Noida campus.

Selection of 17 kids was done after the two different rounds of batting, bowling and fielding under the strict supervision of professional coaches. In the 1st round, 50 kids participated out of which 30 students were selected and in the 2nd round 17 kids out of 30 were selected for the scholarship program.
