The Afghanistan U19 team is set to kickoff their campaign against the Bangladesh U19 squad starting from September 25. However, there has been a slight change in the schedule of the series, which was previously declared by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
According to the old schedule, Afghanistan was slated to play 5 ODIs against the Tigers. Out of those five matches, the first four was expected to be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium while the last match was set to be played in the ‘Home of Cricket’ famed Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.
The Afghanistan team will land on September 25 and will travel to Sylhet the next day. Following a single day’s practice, the youngsters will take the field for the first match. The nations play their first match of the tournament on September 28 according to the new schedule. The second, third, fourth and fifth ODI will take place on 30th September, 2th, 4th and 6th October respectively.
The teams will not play in the country capital
Now a change has been made in the allocation of venues and along with the timings of the matches. According to the new schedule, all of the five matches of the series will be played in Sylhet, implying that no match of the series will be played in the country capital, Dhaka.
The previous fixture schedule slated that the last match will be played on 7th October, Saturday. But with the new reforms, the player won’t need to travel to Dhaka and thus the match has been preponed. Instead, now it will take place on 6th October, Friday. The remaining matches will be played with a single day gap in between.
Following the culmination of the series, the teams will fly to Dhaka on October 7 from where they depart for home the next day.
