Chants of political slogans have been banned at the Gaddafi Stadium

According to the code of conduct guide, spectators will be banned for chanting political slogans during the high profile Independence Cup between Pakistan and World XI at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Strict and legal action will be taken for misconduct and swearing during the course of the match.

If sources are to be believed, a magistrate will be deployed at every enclosure of the stadium who will enforce the code of conduct. The magistrates will have the authority to carry out arrests and, and do the clearance if the situation calls for any such action.

Cheer for your favorite players

Cigarettes, lighters, batteries, chargers, and iron objects have also been banned from the venue. Fans will not be allowed to bring food to the stadium. Fans are allowed to cheer for the teams and they can also click pictures with their idols and favorite cricketers. More than 1000 cameras have been installed around the stadium by the Punjab Safe City Authority, and a close eye will be kept in the control room. For the convenience of the commuters, 38 shuttlers have been provided across many areas.

Cricketers are excited too

Former cricketer Ramiz Raja, who will be commentating in the match has expressed his excitement at the player’s arrival. “It is a great occasion for the home fans. We have taken baby steps with this first initiative and we know that giant steps for international cricket in Pakistan will obviously follow after this historic ICC World XI visit,” Raja said in a release. “I would especially like to thank the ICC World XI players who have agreed for this tour. We are a very strong cricket fraternity and I am really happy that the game has won again.” he added.

Experienced Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik, who is a part of the squad, too supported the tournament and said, “It is a great gesture. I am grateful to the World XI team who are helping bring back international cricket to the country.”
