One of the most consistent sides of the IPL, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) returned to the tournament in 2018 after a two-year gap. For their involvement in the IPL corruption scandal, both Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals had to serve a two-year ban before returning to the field.

Some of the biggest names including CSK skipper MS Dhoni also had to move to different franchises during the interval. CSK, retaining skipper Dhoni, Suresh Raina and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, finally marked their return in the 2018 edition of the cash-rich league. Not only did they marked their arrival but also clinched their third IPL trophy in 2018 season of the IPL.
The ‘Daddies Army’ defied all the odds to carve their name into the record books by lifting their third IPL trophy. CSK was labelled as ‘Daddies Army’ as the average age of their team was on the higher side. CSK was equipped with many veterans like Faf du Plessis, MS Dhoni, Shane Watson and Suresh Raina.
CSK were set to kick off their pre-season camp on Friday for the upcoming IPL edition in the UAE. However, as per reports, the franchise has now delayed the camp as several members from the CSK contingent have tested positive for COVID-19.
Considering the COVID-19 situation across the globe, every IPL franchise has been asked to stay in a bio-security bubble during their two-month IPL journey. All eight franchises have been staying in different hotels post their arrival in the UAE.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is gearing up to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020. Despite being equipped with many star players, the Bangalore franchise has failed to clinch the title so far. Skipper Kohli had also urged the team members to follow strict protocols upon their arrival in the UAE.
