The fight against Covid-19 has also acted as a glue as it has united the citizens.

The cricket fraternity is also trying its best to help the country in whatever way it can. Many cricketers and IPL franchises including the likes of Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan, Pat Cummins, Rajasthan Royals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore have stepped forward in the hour of need to donate and make a difference.

The latest to join the bandwagon in Chennai Super Kings as they have decided to show solidarity with the people of India by donating 450 Oxygen concentrators. On Saturday, the Director of Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd (CSKCL), N Srinivasan met the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru MK Stalin, and presented him with an oxygen concentrator.

The franchise resealed an official statement to speak about their initiative as they said, “Coming as a timely gesture, Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd (CSKCL) has extended support to the people of Tamil Nadu in the fight against the surging Covid-19 second wave. CSKCL has arranged for the delivery of 450 Oxygen concentrators.”

CSK CEO reveals the reason behind the donation made by CSK

“The first consignment of Oxygen concentrators has arrived and the remaining is expected to reach early next week. CSKCL is delivering the Oxygen concentrators for the benefit of Covid patients being treated in Government hospitals and the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC)-run Covid care centres. CSK has been spreading awareness through the “Mask Podu” (Wear Mask) campaign and regular distribution of relevant information through their social media platforms,” the statement added.

Furthermore, the CSK CEO KS Viswanathan opined on the whole matter saying that the franchise is deeply connected with the people of Tamil Nadu as they have received abundant love from the state. Thus, as a token of gratitude, the Super Kings have decided to donate the oxygen concentrators to Tamil Nadu.
