Team India moved to a commanding position on day 4 of the third Test against Australia. A lot of their success can be credited to the marathon man for India in Test cricket, Cheteshwar Pujara. Pujara, who had walked in to bat on day 3, spent as many as 668 minutes during his knock in the first innings. The Saurashtra lad played as many as 525 deliveries – a record number of balls faced by any Indian in Test cricket – before getting dismissed in the final session on day 4.

Pujara went on to notch up a classical double ton in the process that frustrated the visiting Australian side to bits on the day. His knock ensured that India went on to take a decent lead in the first innings, that spanned over 150 runs. He was well supported by Wriddhiman Saha at the crease. Saha scored 117 before getting out.

Also, a cameo of quickfire fifty from Ravindran Jadeja saw India post 603/9 before they declared their innings in the final session. The hosts then managed to take two quick Australian wickets to rightly stamp an authority on the penultimate day of the crucial Test match.

While the performers were many, Cheteshwar Pujara stood out among the rest. His knock drew praises from all corners and many lauded it as the best ever knock under pressure as well. While there were many praising him on the social media, a few had a humorous tinge added to the entire episode.

Soon Pujara became the trending favorite on social media site Twitter for his herculean knock that spanned for 525 balls. Many memes were centered with the captions of ‘Before Pujara coming out to bat’ and ‘After Pujara came into bat’. These memes are truly funny and the viewers went gaga over them.
