Chris Lynn is one of most acclaimed T20 batsmen of the world. The dashing hitter from Australia is known to clear grounds at will. The right-hander is currently participating in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in the Caribbean islands. He recently shared a piece of great news with his fans on social media.

The Queenslander shared a picture with his mother on Instagram and revealed that his mother has been cured of cancer. Last year, Lynn had expressed that he wanted to spend time with his mother at home as she was battling cancer.

“I’m in the Caribbean and played today, got a duck but that doesn’t matter because I just found out my number 1 got cleared of cancer! Love you mum,” Lynn wrote on his Instagram while sharing the picture.

The batsman is very close to his mother as when the Euro T20 and Afghan Premier League was postponed last year due to financial constraints, he shared his joy on the change in schedule. In an interview with Courier-Mail last year, Lynn had mentioned, “It’s a blessing as it has enabled me to spend more time with her at home and being on call.”

The struggle in CPL 2020

The top-order batsman is expected to travel to UAE after his CPL 2020 assignment to play for Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League 2020. The 13th season of IPL has been a shift to UAE this year due to COVID-19 pandemic. Later, Lynn will be playing for his home franchise, Brisbane Heat in Big Bash League, during the summer Down Under.

Chris Lynn is playing for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the current season of CPL. The 5 matches he has featured in have not been as expected. He scored 65 runs in 5 innings he played and the 6 months gap due the pandemic hasn’t done any good to the flamboyant batsman.

His performance in the CPL has been commendable over the years with 2016 being the best year for him. He has scored 46 sixes in CPL career and just needs to hit 4 more to complete fifty sixes.
