In the ongoing third Test match between England and India, the hosts have taken the driving seat by dominating in both departments. The non-inclusion of India’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the playing XI has been a hot topic of discussion for some time now. Ashwin hasn’t made it to the XI for straight three Test matches of the ongoing series.

However, what has grabbed the attention of the fans are the pictures that Ashwin has posted on his social handles. He is seen practicing in the nets. But what surprised the fans was Ashwin’s left-handed batting. The off-spinner is renowned for constantly bringing in changes in his bowling. He often comes in with different variations in his bowling that create problems for the batters.

Ashwin turns left-hander?

This time around many thought, Ashwin brought in some changes in the batting looking at his latest post on his social media accounts. It seemed as if the off-spinner was batting left-handed, but it was only a mirrored image. He captioned the post as: “The desire to ignite something different every day never burns out.”

About the ongoing series, Ravichandran Ashwin is yet to play a game. In the initial three Test matches, the team has opted for a lone spinner in Ravindra Jadeja and has gone with the combination of four pacers. Ahead of the second Test match, Shardul Thakur had to deal with an injury and thus there were speculations that Ashwin might replace him. However, Ishant Sharma was added to the playing XI as Thakur’s replacement.

India registered a thrilling victory at Lord’s as the Indian pacers bowled England out inside 60 overs. Thus, in the third Test match, the team went with the same winning combination making no room for Ashwin yet again. Joe Root and company has so far completely outplayed India by bundling them early on in the first innings and putting up a belligerent show with the bat further on.
