New Zealand Team has no dearth of the quality all-rounders and Colin Munro is one of those talented blokes. Born in Durban, South Africa later shifted to Auckland and represented Auckland in the domestic circuit. Colin was also the part of the U-19 team and toured to Sri Lanka to play the World Cup. Munro didn’t have a great start to his career and had to work regressively to be in the limelight of the selectors.

The Swashbuckler’s fiery performances in the T20 arena let his maiden call-up for the series against South Africa in December 2012. An ODI call came soon after his selection in the T20 setup, where he went on to score fifty plus runs in the second one-day International. Further, seeing his temperament to stick on the wicket for long let him play Test but unfortunately he got out for a golden duck.

The lives of Colin and Munro family changed after the 30-year-old became an established cricketer for New Zealand and seems to be the pillar in T20 Internationals. The New Zealand opener bid goodbye to the year 2017 after becoming the first batsman in the history of the sport to score three-hundreds in T20 cricket. He also topped the World rankings.

Munro will be eyeing IPL Auction

With less than two weeks for IPL Auction, the Munro family will be praying and will be hoping that the auction will change their lives forever. Colin Munro can expect some serious money after sensational performances for both national team and various T20 franchises. In the past, he has represented Kolkata Knight Riders in four games but wasn’t able to set a mark.

The left-hander played three innings and scored just 30 runs with the highest score of 16 runs. He will be eyeing to improve his numbers this time around. Last time around, his contract was worth just $67,000; a world away from the $2.6 million contracts of Australians David Warner and Steve Smith, and Indian star Virat Kohli’s $3.6m IPL deal.
