'Come up with better questions' - Virat Kohli lashes out at a journalist who accused him of swearing Kane Williamson

New Zealand whitewashed Team India in the two-match Test series after they registered an amazing 7-wicket victory in Christchurch. In cricket, win and loss are a part and parcel of the game, but showing good attitude after suffering a defeat on and off the field is what makes a player a great cricketer. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli, hit the headlines, for losing his cool during the post-match conference after Christchurch Test defeat.

Indian batsmen failed to perform well in second innings. On Day 3, the fans had expected a good performance from Rishabh Pant, Hanuma Vihari and Indian tailenders with the bat but that was not the case. The visitors lost their last four wickets within 42 runs that took the match away from Team India.

The hosts were given a nominal target of 132 runs to chase that looked like a cakewalk for New Zealand opener Tom Latham (52) and Tom Blundell (55), who scored amazing fifties before getting dismissed on Day 3. The duo helped their side in chasing down the target quite easily.

However, one thing that hit the headlines was the behavior of Virat Kohli, who gave a poor send-off to Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson in the first innings. Even he chanted some abusive language pointing towards a particular section of fans after the dismissal of Tom Latham in 1st innings. And, in the post-match conference, he was questioned over the same by a journalist when Indian skipper lost his cool as he replied with some real anger hidden in his voice.

The journalist questioned Kohli’s reaction to his behavior on the field, swearing at Williamson when he got out, and swearing at the crowd after Latham’s dismissal.

Journalist: Virat, what’s your reaction to your behavior on the field, swearing at Williamson when he got out, swearing at the crowd. As an Indian captain, don’t you think you should set a better example on the field?

Virat Kohli: What do you think?

Journalist: I asked you the question?

Virat Kohli: I am asking you the answer.

Journalist: You need to set better examples.

Virat Kohli: You need to find out exactly what happened and come up with better questions. You can’t come here with half questions or half details of what happened. And also, if you want to create controversy, this is not the right place. I had spoken to the match referee. He had no issues with what happened. Thank You.

After registering a seven-run victory, New Zealand became the first team to defeat Team India in the longer format since ICC Test Championship came into existence.
