Queensland were set for a  thrilling finish as they had gone past the 300 mark with two overs still to go. James Faulkner, no stranger to the slog overs, bowled the 49th over of the match of the JLT Cup between Queensland and Tasmania. One of his delivery was smacked hard by Ben Cuttings, and the well skied to the roof top. Commentator Pete Lazer couldn’t keep calm and said on air “It has gone miles! That has gone 4,312-meters…”.

The internet was rocked by the big hit and everyone was talking about the match. Even though we are in the T20 era, such giant hits always grab eyeballs. We often see bowlers getting belted but this particular hit will stay in the mind of cricketer lovers as well as Faulkner for a long time.

Big names arrive

The JLT Cup will now be boosted by some big names. South Australia and Victoria are the second and third-placed sides and they will meet at the eliminator. It is believed that around six Aussie internationals are likely to take part in the contest. “To welcome back guys of such high caliber as Finch, Maxwell and Christian at this stage of the tournament is a big win for us, and they’ll certainly add some depth to both our batting and bowling line-up,” said Bushrangers coach Andrew McDonald.

“The squad has been brilliant so far this tournament to get us to this point, and now hopefully with the return of our Australian representatives we can go a step further and qualify for the final.” he added

With some match-winners coming in, the sides will be in dilemma on what combination to play with. “It’s nice to have a few headaches,” WA coach Justin Langer said.

“Obviously Coults will come back in, Jason Behrendorff will come back in. We’ll see what happens with Marcus Stoinis (who may miss the final for personal reasons). We always talk about the collective, so a couple of guys are going to have to miss out on that final after helping us get there.”
