India and Pakistan are all set to meet each other in their opening clash of the T20 World Cup on October 24 in Dubai. A lot of cricket experts and former players are pitching in their thoughts ahead of the much-awaited clash. In the same light, former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir joined the line to put in a few words of praise for India’s ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

Amir further added that any comparison between Bumrah and Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi at this moment would be ‘foolish’. The former speedster supported his argument by adding that Bumrah has been around for quite some time now while Shaheen is still young and learning. In fact, he went on to add that the Gujarat pacer is the best T20 bowler in the world, especially when it comes to death overs.

“See, comparing Shaheen with Bumrah at this point would be foolish because Shaheen is young and he is learning. And Bumrah has been doing well for India for so long and currently, I think he is the best T20 bowler, especially in the death overs,” Amir said on the YouTube channel ‘Uncut’.

Shaheen is Pakistan’s best bowler at the moment: Mohammad Amir

Moving further on the topic, Amir stated that Shaheen is Pakistan’s best bowler at the current moment and has risen through the ranks rapidly in the last one and a half years. However, Bumrah still bowls best with the new ball. Talking about India and Pakistan clash, Amir asserted that his team has an edge over the opponents in terms of pace attack but India will have an upper hand when it comes to the spin department.

“But Shaheen is Pakistan’s best bowler at the moment, given the way he has been performing in the last year, year-and-a-half. So, this promises to be a good contest. Bumrah bowls brilliantly with the new ball and among youngsters, Shaheen is the best when the ball is new,” he added.

Though India hasn’t lost any match against Pakistan in World Cups, it remains to be seen how they stand up against Men in Green on October 24 in Dubai.
