The 12th game of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019 will be played between Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Tridents at the Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.
The match starts at 12:00 PM local time (5:00 PM GMT) (10:30 PM IST)

Preview:
Jamaica Tallawahs’ losing streak has been extended to five matches as they suffered a big loss against Trinbago Knight Riders on Friday. The defending champions exploited the weak bowling line-up of the Tallawahs to post a record 267/2. The home side did score 226/5 in reply but their chances over win evaporated by halfway stage itself due to the lack of depth in the batting.
Andre Russell’s blow on the head will cost a couple of more matches for the Tallawahs if Jade Dernbach and Zahir Khan strike with the ball. They will be up against the Barbados Tridents on Sunday evening. The Jason Holder-led side lost by big margin to the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the first match. However, they bounced back in the following match with a convincing win over the SKN Patriots.
Weather Condition/Report:
Scattered thunderstorms are expected on Sunday at the Sabina Park. However, the highest possibility of rain is between 10 AM and 2 PM local time. The scheduled start of the match is 12 PM which means we could be in for a delayed start.
Pitch Condition/Report:
Trinbago Knight Riders posted a record total of 267/2 in the previous match. Since the Jamaica-Barbados match will be played in the evening, the scores might not go beyond 210. The short boundaries here do help the chasing teams to have a chance at chasing huge totals.
Average first innings score: 185 (CPL matches since 2017)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 4, Lost – 4
Team News:
Andre Russell suffered a blow on the head last week and is expected to miss few matches.
Jade Dernbach added to Jamaica Tallawahs squad.
There is no update regarding Shai Hope’s recovery from the hand injury he suffered during the Test series against India.
Probable Playing XIs:
Jamaica Tallawahs:
Chris Gayle (C), Glenn Phillips (WK), Chadwick Walton, Rovman Powell, George Worker, Kennar Lewis/Javelle Glen, Shamar Springer/Jerome Taylor, Ramaal Lewis, Jade Dernbach, Zahir Khan, Oshane Thomas.
Bench – Derval Green, Kennar Lewis/Javelle Glen, Shamar Springer/Jerome Taylor, Christopher Lamont, Imran Khan, Xavier Marshall, Steven Jacobs, Andre Russell.

Top Picks:
The Tallawahs will be hoping that Jade Dernbach will bring change to their bowling line-up. The England pacer bagged 11 wickets in as many matches during the T20 Blast 2019. Johnson Charles has taken the responsibility of batting for a long period which will help his consistency.
Glenn Phillips seems to be enjoying batting in Kingston where the conditions are similar to that of his domestic team’s home ground, the Eden Park in Auckland. JP Duminy carried on his good form with the bat from GT20 Canada with a quick-fire 43*.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Captain – Glenn Phillips, Chris Gayle, Johnson Charles, Alex Hales
Vice-Captain – JP Duminy, Chadwick Walton, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder
With not so threatening bowlers in the Tridents’ line-up, Chris Gayle could produce a big knock and he can’t be missed out on making captain or vice-captain.
Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Glenn Phillips (C), Leniko Boucher
Batters – Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, Chadwick Walton, Johnson Charles (VC)
All-Rounders – Jason Holder, JP Duminy
Bowlers – Zahir Khan, Oshane Thomas, Sandeep Lamichhane
Suggested Playing XI No.2 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Glenn Phillips
Batters – Alex Hales (VC), Johnson Charles, Chris Gayle (C), Chadwick Walton
All-Rounders – Rovman Powell, JP Duminy, Ashley Nurse
Bowlers – Jade Dernbach, Zahir Khan, Josh Lalor
Expert Advice:
Considering how the Kingston track has played in this tournament, the top-order batsmen across both line-ups – Chris Gayle, Glenn Phillips, Johnson Charles, Chadwick Walton and Alex Hales are a must.
Probable Winners:
Another disappointment could be on cards for Jamaica Tallawahs if their top three don’t fire together.
