Preview:

The 2019 edition of the Caribbean Premier League rolls on and the 20th game will see Barbados Tridents play hosts to Jamaica Tallawahs at the Kensignton Oval. Both sides come into this game desperate for a win, as they aim to address what has been a disappointing campaign thus far. The Tridents have been really inconsistent in this season.

The pattern: LWLWL is a testimony to it and Jason Holder-led unit will be hoping to shrug the ignominy of the 12-run defeat at the hands of Amazon Warriors when they take on Tallawahs on Monday.

Their opponents- Jamaica Tallawahs- are in an even more dire-strait, having suffered six defeats from seven games. But, the only win that they have registered against the team that they’ll face on Monday when they chased down 140 courtesy Chadwick Walton’s 42-ball-51. They’ll hope for an encore in their second meeting.

Weather Condition/Report:

Inclement weather continues to play spoilsport at the CPL. Barbados has had plenty of rain in the past few days. The last game between the Tridents and Amazon Warriors was decided via DLS courtesy persistent rain and much of the same can be expected in tomorrow’s game. There is a 50 percent chance of rain.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The pitch at Kensington Oval has been good for batting. However, with a fair bit of rain in the air and also in the past few days, it could boast of some moisture which the fast bowlers can exploit.

Average first innings score: 137 (In 21 T20Is)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 12, Lost – 9

Top Picks:

Barbados Tridents: The likes of Johnson Charles [11], Alex Hales [24] and Justin greaves [11] could not capitalize on the starts that they got. JP Duminy top-scored with 38 and the all-rounder will hope the top-order gives him more support against the Tallawahs.

Jamaica Tallawahs: Glenn Phillips top-scored with 87 in what was an appaling display of batting by the Tallawahs in the last game. The onus will be on skipper Chris Gayle to lead the way with the bay while Chadwick Walton, who top-scored in Tridents only win in the tournament against Barbados Tridents will be the key.
