St Lucia Zouks continued their good run in the CPL 2020 on Sunday where they stunned the Guyana Amazon Warriors with a 10-run win. The Zouks lost four wickets inside first seven overs before a 51-ball 66 from Roston Chase which guided the St Lucia team to 144/7. Guyana managed to score just 19 runs in the powerplay for the loss of three wickets. But Nicholas Pooran’s 49-ball 68 kept the Amazon Warriors in the hunt until his dismissal in the 19th over. Chemar Holder sealed a win for the Zouks as he conceded only two runs in the last over when Guyana needed 13 to win.

A rare hat-trick for the St Lucia franchise:

3* – St Lucia Zouks has completed a hat-trick in wins by defeating Tridents, Patriots and Amazon Warriors. It is only the 2nd time that the St Lucia franchise has registered three consecutive wins in the CPL. Their other such streak came during the 2016 season where they won three in a row at their home ground, Gros Islet.


Sammy joins MS Dhoni:

200 – This game between Guyana and St Lucia is now the 200th Twenty20 appearance for Daren Sammy as captain. Sammy is only the 2nd player after MS Dhoni (270) to be part of 200 T20s as a captain.

100 – The victory on Sunday was also the 100th victory of Daren Sammy as captain in the Twenty20 format. Sammy is just the 2nd player after MS Dhoni (160) to win as many as 100 T20s as a skipper.


A rare defeat for Guyana against St Lucia:

2/9 – Only the 2nd time Guyana Amazon Warriors ended up on the losing side while chasing a target against the St Lucia Zouks in the CPL. They fell three runs short of a revised target of 157 in 18 overs during the 2015 season. Guyana won seven other CPL games against the St Lucia team while chasing a target which includes six wins with a margin of five or more wickets.


Kesrick tops St Lucia’s wickets chart:

26 – Number of wickets in the CPL for Kesrick Williams while representing the St Lucia Zouks. Kesrick’s 26 wickets are now the most by any player in the CPL for St Lucia franchise surpassing Shane Shillingford’s tally of 25 wickets.


Tahir only behind Tanvir:

40 – Imran Tahir now has 40 wickets in the CPL which are the 2nd most by a player for the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Sohail Tanvir leads the list having picked up as many as 49 wickets in only 35 games. Tahir, with the 3-wicket haul on Sunday, went past Rayad Emrit (39) and Veerasamy Perumal (37).


Another CPL fifty of Pooran in vain:

3/6 – The Sunday’s 68-run knock by Nicholas Pooran was the 3rd of his six CPL fifties ending on the losing side. He scored a 24-ball 54 against Guyana in 2013 where his team Trinidad lost by 19 runs. Later in 2016, Pooran hit a 25-ball 51 during Barbados’ 36-run defeat against Jamaica.
