Guyana Amazon Warriors touched 150-run mark for the first time in CPL 2020 as an unbeaten century from Nicholas Pooran guided them to a 6-wicket win. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots posted 150/5 in their 20 overs thanks to a 46-ball 59 from Joshua Da Silva while batting at No.3. In the chase, the Guyana team were reduced to 26/3 by end of the powerplay.

Pooran then began to smash the bowlers of Patriots as he struck 14 boundaries including ten sixes during his 45-ball 100. Pooran brought up his maiden T20 century by smashing a hat-trick of sixes when Guyana needed 16 runs from 18 balls. Pooran put on an unbeaten stand of 128 runs in only 11.5 overs for the 4th wicket with Ross Taylor (25*).

Here are all the statistical highlights recorded during Nicholas Pooran’s blitz against the Patriots:

Guyana continues their winning streak against Patriots:

6 – Guyana Amazon Warriors have won all the six matches they played against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the CPL since the start of the 2018 edition. Overall, the Warriors have won ten of the 12 CPL games against the Patriots.

Pooran’s quick-fire effort:

45 – Nicholas Pooran’s 45-ball century is now the 3rd fastest hundred in the CPL behind Andre Russell’s tons off 40 and 42 balls respectively in 2018 and 2016. Both those tons came for the Jamaica Tallawahs against the Trinbago Knight Riders.

3 – Pooran is now the 3rd player to score a hundred in the CPL while playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors. Brandon King smashed an unbeaten 132 against Barbados Tridents in 2019 while Shimron Hetmyer scored exactly 100 against Jamaica Tallawahs in 2018.

3 – Pooran is also the 3rd player to smash a CPL ton against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Chris Gayle and Glenn Phillips scored 116 in 2019 and 103 in 2018 respectively against the Patriots while representing the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Pooran’s six-hitting spree:

10 – Nicholas Pooran became only the 2nd player in the CPL to smash ten or more sixes in an innings for the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Brandon King hit as many as 11 sixes during his unbeaten 132-run knock against Barbados Tridents in 2019.

Sinclair starts with a dream spell:

9 – The nine runs conceded by Kevin Sinclair against the Patriots are the fewest by any player in his four overs on CPL debut. The previous fewest runs conceded on CPL debut are ten runs by Guyana’s Ashmead Nedd on last Saturday against the Tallawahs.

A rare wicketless game for Tahir:

5 – This game is only the 5th in the CPL for Imran Tahir where he failed to pick up a wicket. The leg-spinner claimed at least one wicket in 23 out of the 28 CPL matches he has played thus far. Since the start of 2019 edition, Tahir accounted for 27 wickets across 16 CPL games and picked up at least one wicket in 14 matches.
