After three consecutive sub-100 totals, the Barbados Tridents clinched a 7-wicket win over the Jamaica Tallawahs to finish their campaign on high. Jermaine Blackwood scored 74 from 59 balls while a 28-ball 54 from Andre Russell towards the end dragged Jamaica to 161/4. The Barbados team lost two wickets in first two overs but a counter-attacking fifty from Jason Holder (69 off 42) to the Tridents on the top. Jonathan Carter (42*) and Mitchell Santner (35*) completed the chase with an unbeaten 58-run stand for the 4th wicket in only 35 deliveries.

A big chase by Tridents:

162 – The successful chase of 162 by Barbados Tridents is now the 2nd highest in the Twenty20 format at the Brian Lara Stadium. The highest is 169 by Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 2017 edition also against Jamaica Tallawahs.

4 – The Barbados Tridents ended their 4-match losing streak in this CPL with the 7-wicket win against Tallawahs on Saturday. Only twice in the CPL that the Tridents lost more than four successive matches (5 in 2013-2014 and 9 in 2018-2019).


Russell @ 100:

103 – Number of sixes hit by Andre Russell in the history of CPL thus far; the 6th player to smash 100 or more sixes in the league history. Russell is also the 2nd player to smash 100 or more CPL sixes for the Jamaica Tallawahs after Chris Gayle.

16.33 – Batting average of Andre Russell in the CPL against Barbados Tridents before Saturday’s fifty. The Tridents were the only franchise against whom he averaged less than 20 in the CPL. Russell scored only 98 runs in 8 innings with a best of 29* against the Tridents in the CPL before the 54-run knock.


Career-best knocks for Blackwood and Holder:

69 – The 69-run knock in this match is the highest T20 score for Jason Holder in his 116-match career. Holder had only one 50+ score (54 vs SKN Patriots in 2018) across the 85 innings he batted in T20s before this match.

1 – Jermaine Blackwood scored a fifty for the first time in his 25-match T20 career. Blackwood batted in 20 innings before his 74-run knock on Saturday where his highest score was only 38 runs.


A rare stumping dismissal for Russell:

2014 – Andre Russell getting stumped off Rashid Khan was only the 5th instance of him being stumped in a T20 match. The last of his previous four such dismissals came during the Ram Slam T20 2014 for Knights against Lions.

His first three dismissals via stumping in T20s came between 2010 and 2012 during the Caribbean T20 while representing Jamaica team.

3 – Rashid Khan has dismissed Andre Russell in T20 cricket on three occasions in seven meetings. Russell faced 25 balls in this format from Rashid and has aggregated 46 runs with help of five maximums and two fours.
