It is finally time for the second leg of the southern derby in the Indian Premier League as Chennai Super Kings(CSK) face the Royal Challengers Bengaluru(RCB) in the 68th game of the Indian Premier League. The match might be affected by rain but the drainage system at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium is supposedly the best in the country and fans might expect a game at least.
It is a huge encounter as the winner of the encounter tomorrow between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will become the fourth and final team to qualify for the playoffs of this edition of the Indian Premier League. It is more complicated for the hosts as they need to win inside 18.1 overs or by 18 runs tomorrow night to qualify.
Here is the Predicted Playing XI for RCB vs CSK:
Openers: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (c)
Once again the team would be relying on Virat Kohli to do the bulk of the scoring. The Team India batter currently holds the orange cap and would be looking to add more runs to his already impressive tally for this season. If he can perform his magic once again, it can turn out to be a glorious night for the hosts.
This might just be the biggest game that Faf du Plessis would have captained in his career as the former Chennai Super Kings batter looks to get one over his former Team to book a spot in the playoffs. The fans would be expecting another great innings from the opener and help lead the Bangalore side to victory against their biggest rivals.

Middle Order: Rajat Patidar, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Mahipal Lomror
After a disappointing start to the Indian Premier League 2024 season, Rajat Patidar has finally found the form that he desired for. He has been striking the ball well and his crucial innings in middle order have proven to be significant for the franchise. The Team India batter would be looking for yet another great knock for the franchise as he looks to guide his team into the top four on the points table.
This can turn out to be the last game for Dinesh Karthik in the Indian Premier League as he had announced that this would be his final season. The wicketkeeper-batter impressed everyone with his performances and would want to deliver once again for the side in this do-or-die encounter for the franchise. Everyone would be hoping that this is not the last game for the veteran and he can have a fitting farewell during the playoffs.
One of the players who might be deemed as the weak link in the current playing XI would be Mahipal Lomror. The batter has had only one good innings throughout the season but the team management has shown faith in the youngster. He would be hoping to save his best for last as his side looks to enter the playoffs tomorrow night.

All-rounders: Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Swapnil Singh
After the departure of Will Jacks, it would be an obvious decision for the franchise to turn their eyes towards Glenn Maxwell. It has been a dismal campaign for the all-rounder but would be looking to come good for the franchise in the most important game of the tournament. The Australian is known to perform when the going gets tough and a clinical innings tomorrow would surely give him a boost ahead of the T20 World Cup as well.
Many people deemed the trade of bringing in Cameron Green to be a poor decision. However, the tall Australian has proved everyone wrong with his performances and some of his displays have gone under the radar. He brings solidarity to the batting and his contributions to the ball have also been delightful to watch.
The public has called Swapnil Singh to be the lucky charm for the franchise. This is because since he was drafted into the line-up, it has sparked a remarkable change in form for the Bangalore-based franchise. He has played a vital role as his short cameos with the bat and early wickets with the ball help the side gain momentum during an innings.

Bowlers: Karn Sharma, Yash Dayal, Mohammed Siraj
For a change, Royal Challengers Bengaluru's bowling has also been doing wonders for them and that is mainly because of the return in form for Mohammed Siraj. The pacer had a poor start to the season and was not able to take wickets often. However, a small break for him led to his revival and he now looks fresh as ever and has been taking wickets consistently.
Another player who has been great if given the opportunity is Karn Sharma. Even on a track like M.Chinnaswamy stadium, the bowler has been successful in taking wickets for the side and would be looking to do so once again tomorrow.
One of the best buys in terms of bowling for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been Yash Dayal as the pacer has been great. The speedster has been great with the new ball and during the death overs as well for the side which is a huge plus.
