In February 1997, the Sachin Tendulkar-led Indian team visited Zimbabwe for a two-match ODI series. Hosting the Indian team in the first ODI at Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe thrashed the visitors by eight wickets (revised target). Earlier, against the potent Indian side, Zimbabwe skipper, Alistair Campbell won the toss and elected to field first.

Streak, who was one of the youngest players in the Zimbabwe squad, produced fire with the ball and helped his team to be in a commanding position. Picking up a 5/32 in his 8.5 overs, he ceased India on an underwhelming total of 168 in 43.5 overs. During his incredible spell, he dismissed Ajay Jadeja and Robin Singh to destroy India’s middle order.

At the end of the day, the hosts emerged victorious in the curtailed game and Streak won the Player of the Match for his excellent fifer. Till the end of his international career, this swashbuckling bowling performance against the sub-continent country remained his best in ODIs.
