2. Rethink overseas combinations

At one point in their season, the Super Giants saw their team combinations include four overseas players, Josh Inglis, Nicholas Pooran, Marsh and Markram, who were batters that played in their top five. Since 2025, the team has seen a heavy reliance on a batting core filled with overseas stars, with a reliance on Indian names for bowling depth and lower middle-order options.

Teams that dominate the IPL have seen their playing XIs packed with overseas players who fulfil different roles and offer different skillsets, allowing for better team structure. LSG’s one-dimensionality with their foreign combinations has been a severe detriment, and adding international players who offer different skillsets would add much-needed balance and help freshen up the side.
