Tilak Varma, born on November 8, 2002, in Hyderabad, is a left-handed batter who has played 49 T20Is, scoring 1,390 runs at an average of 44.83, with two centuries and six fifties, and a top score of 120*. Both of his T20I centuries were scored from the No. 3 position. In the 1st T20I against West Indies, he was slotted to bat at No. 5. The current vice-captain of the Indian men's T20I side, Varma has excelled in a finisher's role recently, with the order above him performing consistently well and limiting his time in the middle. His record at No. 3 suggests he is more than capable of handling a higher position, and returning him to that slot could unlock more of his potential across the remaining four matches of the series.
